Home insurance recs for high risk area? Hello, we are in the process of buying a home in Guerneville. It is out of the flood zone and not listed as a high risk area on the Cal Fire map. But several insurance companies thus far have said they cannot insure us due to fire risk. Does anyone have any recommendations other than the state insurance plan (which would double our monthly rate to like 500/month)?
