California E&S Insurance

I moved from New Jersey in the fall of 2020, didn’t get a permanent residence until February 2021, then got my drivers license a few months later. I leased my car In January 2021 so registration and plates were Colorado and DL beginning of that year. My insurance originated in New Jersey and is why they flagged me that I need a Colorado policy, I just don’t know why it took a year and a half for them to tell me. I admittedly didn’t know I needed to update the policy. They said they mailed the letter and they totally could of, I just never saw it in my mail box.
