I don’t think it’s a scam and I understand why it’s changing. I’m no stranger to the inevitability of change. I’m trying to figure out how to best adapt to those changes myself. My question is if it looks as though the insurance market is going to remain what it’s changing into or if this is temporary. I’ve talked to several agents and gathered quotes. None have anything to say about the long term sustainability of the current market. That’s why I’m asking here. And yes, I am angry about it and have a right to be. It is what it is but it still sucks. It used to be we could take steps to maintain our property with wildfire mitigation in mind in order to keep rates down but insurers are no longer working with homeowners like that. It’s upsetting to see the ripple effect beginning to take hold of our economy. It will soon effect rental prices too. My neighbors and my community are hurting because of these changes.
