Ok, so say it costs about $30k on average to outfit 10,000 parcels or homes not counting modified building codes requiring more expensive fire resistant roofs and eaves. More on the homes at the edge and less and less going inward. That’s $300 million. Losses from losing insurability, access to conventional financing, and market perception of fire prone neighborhoods on our land would exceed that. Settlement from a responsible utility company should consider losses which would include damages to our property including the loss of insurability. Isn’t this the kind of solution we want from our governments?
