California E&S Insurance

Are you speaking from experience in California recently? So many of the big insurance companies are no longer writing plans in the state (State Farm, Farmers, and more), so shopping around is limited compared to other localities. Im motivated to keep my existing policy if possible, and since they offered a way to retain it, seems worth trying.
