Raising our deductible is a start, but you have to make sure the $ you save is worth it AND you have the funds to cover it in case it's needed. I had an Insured who wanted to save some $ and increased his deductible to $10,000. I had both husband & wife sign off, I wanted both to acknowledge it. Sur'nuf 3 months later they had a $20,000 claim and couldn't afford to pay the deductible. They saved about $400 from what they were paying before for that $10k deductible.
