Your personal earthquake insurance for your condo covers everything within your unit. So the actual walls of your unit, fixtures, appliances, furniture, etc. The structure of your building and common areas have to be covered by your HOA, which should have a HOA master insurance policy. For something like earthquake and flood damage, that's a separate policy your HOA should get... But if they don't or their coverage limits are exceeded, your condo insurance can help with your share of those repair costs.
