Only a very small portion of RPV is "sinking into the sea". The bigger issue is that there isn't much to do there if you're not local, want to meet people, or do things without driving (not that far away tbf to Torrance/Redondo/whatever). It's great for families and pretty dead for everything else. It's where you go if you want good school districts for your kids.
