If you're that high risk, then a lot of surplus lines many may not want to insure you as well. Might be a few carriers that willing but your probably better off getting the FAIR plan + a DIC policy with an admitted carrier. Claims payment hasn't been an issue, oftentimes they use 3rd party claims adjuster versus I house employee. with surplus lines carriers. They tend to have much higher deductibles, probably look at 10k minimum deductible for fire and roofing claims and limited coverage for water damage. Often I would see a set dollar amount and it's capped versus a standard homeowners where the water damage limit is whatever your coverage A was.
