I agree it’s a bad look that they lost the previous file documents, but I’m not putting together how requiring a reinspection on a reopened file is a tactic to delay the claim further. From the rest of your post, it looks like you’re looking for reasons to mistrust the carrier (understandable) without thinking through how the process actually needs to work. So… the advice is to allow them to reinspect otherwise *you* are the one delaying the claim further.
