Came here to say this. I’m reminded when I spend long periods of time (more than a weekend) in my hometown.
Moreover, the wildfires and even when shit goes down on Citizen — Angelenos come together in ways I’ve never experienced living elsewhere. OP, people say this about San Francisco too, but you don’t get to love a city until you hate it too. As you can see, my username would indicate my love for SF and I left it during a time that I was loving it, but only after going through the motions for a few years. Now I miss it terribly.
It’s normal for your relationship with a city to evolve. I moved here in 2021 and never understood why people love it here until 6 months ago. It’s still just a spark, but my love for LA only grows. Not sure if it helps, but there have been some new cafes opening in WeHo that are amazing.
