Advise on neighbor tree removal
Hey, I’m hoping someone here has gone through something similar and/or can point me in the right direction.
A property behind me has a large tree that is a few feet away from the property line. It has now grown so big that it overhangs over my Gazebo and a branch almost reaches my home’s roof. I usually trim the branches that I can reach but now they are so high up that I can’t reach them. Generally I don’t mind it because it provides shade for my back yard and it is very useful in the summer.
However a few weeks ago my insurance company sent me a letter saying that they took pictures of my house and that they saw the tree leaf litter on my gazebo gutters, roof, etc. and that it was overhanging too much. So they are ending my insurance after my policy period ends. Called them, said they would like to see the tree trimmed or removed.
Unfortunately, I have never spoken to my “neighbor “ and I actually think it is a rental property because I’ve seen people come and go over the years. However just after new years this year, the house had a fire and it sits empty. I’ve been attentive hoping to see activity and go ask if they are the owners. But have had no luck.
So I wanted to see if people had ideas on how I can reach the legal owners?
I’ve been thinking of going to the county office to see if they give me a name and address and plan to do it next week.
Any tips would be appreciated!
