I was dropped from Progressive because our roof "needed replacing". It was aging, but not significantly damaged - they only used one sheet of fresh plywood on the whole thing. Progressive also gave us less than two weeks to get the entire roof replacement done from the time of notification before our policy cut off, which even the agents on the phone "couldn't help with". I basically assumed they were looking for a reason to drop us (even though we had had them for 8 years, never missed a payment and never had a claim), switched companies, and got the roof done on my own funds anyway.
