I wonder if a steel roof would help with the insurance? Forest fire risk, blown embers, asphalt roofs catch fire, and its the blown embers that cause a building to burn down in a forest fire.. Something as simple as a steel roof world be a huge safety thing to protect your family. Could go further with no vinyl siding or trim either.
