I work in surplus lines, and we do write in CA but there are wildfire zone restrictions for certain areas. The price will absolutely be higher than what you were paying, significantly so. Fair plan will likely be cheaper but may be lesser coverage, it all depends. If I were you I would find an independent agency you like (look for someone associated with the IIABA, independent insurance agents and brokers of America; not a sketchy sales group but a reputable professional organization used for networking and CE) that can help market your account and can do the legwork on what is the best fit.
