Sprinklers won't help protect against what happened this last week. Those are meant to stop small interior fires before they get out of control. Construction methods and materials are more important. >I’ve just heard there are communities that rebuilt way nicer after a fire due to the massive insurance payouts. I feel like that's also because vulture capitalists sweep in to buy cheap, suddenly vacant land and use their capital to "redevelop" the neighborhood. I'm really afraid of Altadena turning into another wasteland of luxury apartment buildings. I'm all for dense housing but not if they cost $3,000 for a one bedroom.
