I live near Lake Tahoe. I pay $6500 just for the CA (not) Fair Plan fire coverage . . . State Farm gets another $1500 annually. Sure, I can afford it, but fuck them, i.e., I am moving to WA State, where insurance on my new home (brand new on a .61 acre lot) in an upscale community will cost $800 annually, if I combine my car insurance ($1100). A thousand if I don't combine car insurance. Maybe it's just me, but I am tired of California (PG&E, businesses, and the State) being in my pocket for mediocre to poor services. I grew up in California and it has done a 180, insofar as efficiency in providing services. Don't get me going on traffic either . . . lol
