Marindependent, sorry, I have been on the road the last few days. You do raise some good points and let's keep in mind that the early numbers are probably not very reliable either way. Late 19th century LA was still a small town, in a desert, with very rudimentary methods to capture any weather information. But let's get back to what I was pointing out in the article, that of severe droughts. The average (red line) is 14 inches per year. For 2023 - 2024 the rainfall total was 25 inches and for 2021 - 2022 the rainfall total was 28 inches. Not exactly a drought. Also, there is no number for 2025 because the year had just started.
