Our aging landlord (still pretty young in most books at around 40-50s) managed to get through a brain tumor/cancer it was always on the back of our minds that had he not we would really have had to get our asses in gear, we are so grateful he made it through but he still always talks about how the city/society is trying to get rid of private small time landlords and move toward corporate ones by increasing taxes to the point where he, someone who charges less than market value rent, can no longer sustain and I agree completely
