My experience is no, it will not. SAFECO denied my renewal because I have not updated my home‘s electrical panel. I asked if I’d be renewed IF I did spend thousands to upgrade the panel. Crickets from the folks who issued the non-renewal. My agent emailed me a few weeks later to say “no” SAFECO would not offer a renewal even with a brand new panel. Mercury would not “consider” my application without an upgraded panel. Note the wording. So, no. If the company doesn’t want to write the policy they’ll find a way not to renew that doesn’t trigger a CDI complaint. YMMV.
