Right? I get it partially, it is a critique on some of the issues with modern capitalism... But... All you have to do is understand where many of these insurance ideas came from. Risk sharing is a great concept, and very egalitarian. "Hey instead of one us possibly losing everything we own to one uncontrollable incident like a pirate attack, we all pay a bit and in the event we get hit with a disaster that person is made whole again." That is not to say there aren't a ton of criticisms that can be made about the industry and its practices. But overall there are so many people who feel like the entire industry in all aspects is a scam. I guess that is why insurance is as much sales as it is anything else. It is educating people on the fundamentals of the products.
