I can only stress that those affected and being railroaded by insurance companies, you need to lawyer up.
Insurance is looking for every single thing to nickel and dime their customers. They're not in the habit of paying out, they will do all they can to minimize payouts. You best believe the associates are all under similar type mandates . Potential bonuses depending on savings to company etc.
I dealt with a house in Napa / Santa Rosa that belonged to my ex's mom. It burnt down during the fires up there few years back. English wasn't her first language so I helped her out as much as I could. Learned a lot, wouldn't wish this upon my worst enemy. My heart goes out to all affected but please, lawyer up. The insurance companies are not your friends. They'd happily settle for providing you a cardboard box to live out of, if they could get away with it.
