Our new claims examiner told us she was closing our claim but would re-open it when they received our contents inventory list. It was kind of wiggly language so we wrote back asking her to confirm that the claim would be re-opened at that time. She wrote back: “Although we are aware of the recent ruling, please note that there is no change in the handling of your claim at this time. This matter is still in the early stages, and no formal changes have been implemented. We will continue to follow the guidance of the California FAIR Plan and adhere to the current policy provisions until directed otherwise.“ We didn’t ask about that at all, just if the claim would be re-opened upon receipt of our contents inventory list. 🙄 They’re really on the defensive already.
