That's because I mostly buy things like VOO and VT that do track those broader indexes! When I first started investing I definitely picked some that had lower performance and more fees but I've been figuring that stuff out and sold some of the poorer performing mutual funds when I needed down payment money and got rid of some others when I could do a little tax loss harvesting
