First of all, there is no pressure to “settle”. The estimate they provide is based on the initial damages and will almost always increase as more information/damage is found. You should work with your insurer to have a water mitigation company out to assess for moisture which can then help them update their estimate. What did your adjuster say when you brought up your concerns about hidden moisture and/or your questions about the claim process?
