Thank you for this comment. So many people in my area sweep it under the rug. We were at the mercy of the winds and “got lucky”. Obviously others did not fare so well. Everyone thinks it cannot happen to them until it does. I wasn’t told to evacuate but I did. The lizard part of my brain told me to leave. I’m glad I did. I’m not from out here, I’m from the East coast. None of this is normal to me. But to my neighbors it is.
