Urban dense communities paying 30-50% more in utility rates and insurance premiums to subsidize rural, low density communities is a farce. Let those rural ratepayers bear the cost of reducing wildfire risk and delivering power safely. If rate payers had the choice of local power generation vs PG&E they would choose local in a heartbeat. But PG&E has a monopoly that only benefits a minority of Californians. Break up PG&E. Set rates per county. Let economics stop the unsustainable sprawl in fire risk areas.
