I have the exact same issue with Mercury. Here is a quote from RACCO HVAC stating that cleaning was not enough: Both soot and ash possess acidic and corrosive properties, which may cause significant damage to essential internal components, including electrical contacts, blower motors, heat exchangers, and coils. This damage poses a risk of voiding manufacturer warranties. Mercury still refuses to replace the system. This is also the same argument with the rest of the electronics in the house. Sorry you are having to go through that.
