I’ve owned 3 insurance agencies (2 captive and 1 independent) in my life and I got out of the business 3 years ago because I saw the writing on the wall. They’re going to cut agent commissions on new and renewal business. They’re going to tighten up policy verbiage and make coverage worse. They’re going to get harder on people with older homes, older roofs, etc. Climate change is going to drive rates up further. I think it’s inevitable that home prices will have to come down if insurance keeps rocketing up. Something’s gotta give.
