This is a fair point. I often wonder how much of the pandemic change is LA specific vs generic to any US city. I do think our restrictions were much severe than some other places in the US, and to minimal benefit. OP sums up the issues in LA well, especially lack of social contract and people’s selfish behavior, which is easily seen anytime you drive here. But I wonder if you’d find the same thing elsewhere.
