Thoughts on SF from a Seattleite

Thoughts on SF from a Seattleite Not sure if this is an appropriate post, but I just wanted to gush over your city for a second. I grew up in Seattle. It’s my hometown, love it to death and I will 100% have my ashes spread in the Puget Sound. But holy shit, we need to take some notes from you guys. I took a short trip recently with my partner. You guys have a beautiful city. As a bit of an urbanism nerd, I really appreciate the efficient transit, the street plans, the architecture, etc. But I think SF has a certain charm you may notice is missing in other North American cities, even fairly forward thinking ones like Seattle. What I immediately notice is mixed-use zoning. So many shops next to/integrated with housing. It makes for very pleasant and walkable neighborhoods. Seattle, save for a few areas, is mostly divided into commercial and single-family zones. I love both of our cities and I think they are not to dissimilar from each other. We have a lot of the same issues (namely high cost of living) and a lot of the same strengths, but you have something special. Do not let anyone take that away from you.
