In the 23 years I've been doing this, I haven't seen it happen with our carriers. Financial strength is constantly monitored. If they start dropping in their ratings, you'll generally find that a good agent has let you know that and will start shopping it for you. Also important to note that these carriers have both reinsurance and other interests that generate a ton of profit. Look for a company that's been around for many years.
