This sounds hyperbolic, but I lived in a place like this and eventually they illegally towed my car from my reversed spot. Several complications here from it:
AWD Crossover that was pulled from the spot by front tires, left huge tiremarks from where they pulled the car and because it's AWD and they towed it using only the front 2 tires they damaged my drivetrain.
After showing documentation that I lived there and paid for the spot, they refused to releasee my vehicle without payment and said my options were "take us to court while accruing more fees or pay the fee now and get your car back (ransom)"
Run far and away, and do please let them know your reason was their choice of Tow Service.
