My California FAIR Plan Renewal is CHEAPER this year!
My California FAIR Plan Renewal is CHEAPER this year!
Had a few claims (slab leaks) and got dropped from insurance about 5 years ago. Got on FAIR plan before all the crazy fires of the last few years, but my insurance (for a tenant-occupied home btw) went from \~$550 a year in 2019 to last year's over $3200. That's in addition to a separate liability insurance policy for another \~$1700.
After Palisades fire and recent insurance events/news, I was bracing for a massive increase. To my delight, this year's renewal came in under $1k! The only thing I can think of is that there was some info on a new risk assessment model they use, and I guess my home/area did well enough that my price dropped. I'll certainly take it.
Hoping others get a similar positive surprise. Home located in Corona, CA.
