Past performance is no guarantee of future results. Home prices have been shooting upward unsustainably. There is actually an objective measure of what a s sustainable in hone and rent prices. It’s that people need to be able to afford them on about 1/3 of their salaries. Banks won’t give loans and rental companies won’t sign contracts with people who don’t make enough. And if the Uber rich buy up all the houses and sit on them, eventually so many people will be homeless that the government will have to intervene and start building housing. No government will survive that can’t house the majority of people. You’ve been benefiting from this huge increase through your life, but with things at a breaking point where even middle class families can’t afford housing, the future will look much different than the past. And just as you easily made 40k in a few years, you could lose 40k in a few years.
