We had a similar issue and had applied for like 10 different companies before we finally found one. Believe it or not, Geico actually offered us home insurance which is really surprising since we're in East county and there's a high fire risk. We closed on our home in August 2023, so not too long ago. Your realtor should be able to help you with this process as well. When we were having trouble finding an insurance company, he was going to help us apply for the state insurance. The state insurance can't deny you, the only drawback is that it's more expensive.
