California Fair Plan Insurance is months behind in updating its data because of a new system implementation. This should be paid through escrow, but currently hasn't been paid.

California Fair Plan Insurance is months behind in updating its data because of a new system implementation. This should be paid through escrow, but currently hasn't been paid. Mortgage company sent a letter demanding proof of insurance. My supplemental insurance agent tells me not to worry, coverage will be retroactive with no lapse in coverage once it's updated. But CFP shows status has expired and "Bills for this policy are currently billed to the mortagee" . Anyone else in this position? Any due diligence suggestions?
