Drinking has direct research about being a carcinogen and is one of the only drugs ON THE ENTIRE FUCKING PLANET where the side effect of withdrawals is full on death. Yes weed and other drugs are bad Alcohol puts all of them wayyyy below my personal priority list. I find bars and restaurants that rely on drinking to be profitable to be direct contributors to this epidemic. The alcohol bar and restaurant industries exacerbate this problem then hospital relies upon my tax dollars to cover the medical costs of something that is entirely preventable. This is also why I will straight up tell people “why do you hate your neighbors” when serving alcohol.
