Insurance dropped because house is too small?!?

Insurance dropped because house is too small?!? Ok, not dropped yet, but I received notice today that my insurance is subject to non renewal because my house is under 750 sq ft. This will be my fourth renewal. On the second year they had a few things to fix. This year I have done some touch up painting and trimmed all the trees back in expectation of the visit. Turns out they decided to reach into the vault for this one. California. Anyone ever heard of this BS?
