Are canyon homeowners all screwed ?

Are canyon homeowners all screwed ? I was recently non-renewed by my homeowners insurance carrier because as a canyon home I guess we are now high risk for wildfire even though there has never been one here basically ever (west Clairemont).I'm hearing more about people now getting dropped just for being near a canyon and it looks like I'm going to have to resort to California Fair plan which is expensive terrible coverage. Canyons are a part of the geography of San Diego and it's the reason I bought my house where I did. Are we all screwed? Any good insurance options on the horizon?
