California homeowners insurance in high fire danger areas

California homeowners insurance in high fire danger areas I’m one of the many unlucky California homeowners to receive a non-renewal notice from my homeowners insurance. I’ve called every company and my only option is CA fair plan with a separate wrap policy. The cost of coverage will be triple what I’ve been paying. This is a huge financial blow and along with some other recent financial hardships it has me considering selling my house and going back to renting. That’s not an easy choice either because the real estate market in the area is taking a hit due to the insurance market, and relocating isn’t an option due to a shared custody order that keeps me local. My question is, do you guys think that CA insurance companies are going to continue to charge these astronomical rates and/or refuse coverage? If I choose to sell would I be making a long term change due to what could possibly be just a short term problem? *Edit to rephrase my question so sound less accusatory. I get why this is happening but it still sucks and I’m still upset about it, no matter how justified it may be.
